On Tuesday, September 1st, IATSE Local 23, as a part of the international #WeMakeEvents grassroots movement, will be holding a March for Workers to demonstrate the Entertainment Industry’s need for economic support during this global crisis. We will be meeting on the corner of Pine and Richmond streets at 6pm, and ending on the front steps of the Dunkin Donuts Center. We invite all who support the arts and the American Worker to join us in this walk.

We need labor help and resource help to Light Providence RED on Tuesday September 1st, to call attention to the plight of the Live Events Industry since the shutdown in March.
#WeMakeEvents #RedAlertRESTART and #ExtendPUA represent a major call to action on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, imploring the US Congress to pass the RESTART Act (S.3814) as quickly as possible, offering economic relief to the Live Events Industry, which has been shuttered since March 2020, putting millions of people out of work. Additionally, the movement is to support ExtendPUA.org in their efforts towards continuation and extension of the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance to provide relief to those without work due to COVID-19.
The new date is September 1, 2020, when buildings, structures, and residences will be lit in red from 9 pm – 12 am (local time in each market) as the event rolls across North America. The goal to raise public awareness that the Live Events Industry is on Red Alert for its very survival, and create congressional pressure to act now.
As theaters, concert tours, festivals, opera houses, trade shows, and other live events as well as film and television production remain closed, or open on a very limited basis, the entire industry is impacted, from designers, technicians, programmers, and stagehands to rental shops, manufacturers, and distributors of entertainment technology. The first industry to close last March, Live Events could be the last sector to re-open due to the COVID-19 crisis.

of Cranston, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Denise (Notarianni) DiVozzi.
Born in Providence, he was the son of Elaine (DePetrillo) DiVozzi and the late Robert DiVozzi; son-in-law of Mickey (Folco) Notarianni and the late Fredrick Notarianni.
Robert was a self-employed carpenter and former owner of DiVozzi Bakery.
Robert was the devoted father of Robert DiVozzi III, Deric DiVozzi and Bobbie DiVozzi; loving grandfather of Robert DiVozzi IV. He was the dear brother of Jean Pareu and her husband Allan, Karen Scarcella and her late husband Sergio and the late David DiVozzi. He was the dear brother-in-law of Dawn Caparelli, Louis Notarianni, Fredrick Notarianni, Jr. and Michael Miller.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday June 20, 2020 at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church 927 Atwood Ave. Johnston. Burial will be private.
